Update on Dahua Operations in Russia

In response to certain media reports regarding Dahua’s global business operations in Russia, Dahua UK and Ireland wishes to set the record straight and address any potential questions or concerns.

On March 26, 2022, our parent company Dahua Technology suspended all shipments to Russia. At the end of 2022, Dahua resumed limited shipments to Russia, exporting only peripheral products, i.e., products that are non-essential to the provision of video surveillance capability and otherwise not related to surveillance — including monitors, LED, cables, and stands.

Concurrently, our global sales presence in Russia has been significantly scaled back since the end of March 2022. While Dahua maintains a Russian-language website, this website is aimed at customers across other Russian-speaking countries, including Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.

To be clear: Dahua currently only provides the Russian market with peripheral products and accessories. Dahua does not sell drones, thermal imagers, anti-drone guns or any other such products in this market. Importantly, none of our products globally are currently designed for military use. Dahua Technology principally serves consumer, commercial and domestic public security end-users worldwide to create safer and smarter communities through video security solutions and services.

It is true that — in theory — certain products offered by any video security company could be repurposed for certain military use. However, none of the Dahua products that remain available in the Russian market have any conceivable utility for military purposes and none of our products globally are being designed for those purposes.

We believe the limited range of products that Dahua exports to Russia are the least restrictively controlled under the U.S. Export Administration Regulations and exported in compliance with relevant U.S. export controls. More importantly, Dahua does not engage in business with military end users in Russia.
